Road Hazards - A Dallas Morning News investigation

Here are some pages from a project I photo edited on the dangers of trucking in Texas in 2006. For this Road Hazards report on trucking companies, reporters spent seven months obtaining and analyzing federal and state truck inspection and investigation records, accident reports and court records, including detailed case files from Wise County, one of the state's deadliest. Staff photographer Melanie Burford told the stories of the victims of big rig accidents. Here are some pages from the project, which was designed by Cindy Smith.
